Yameen’s clients are people that have felt a little knocked around by life and want support as they move toward fulfilling their true potential. A believer in the field of Positive Psychology, Yameen believes in focusing on an individual’s strengths and virtues to help individuals, couples and families thrive. Clients who come to Yameen want to be heard. They love his listening approach, and feel comforted that his counseling style focuses on the strengths within individuals and families. Families that work with Yameen want a deeper understanding of each family member’s unique role which sets the stage for family members to develop and become experts on their particular family system without judgement.
Yameen brings a wealth of life experience as well as over 10 years of professional expertise with families and children in various settings, particularly those within the foster care and child welfare system. It is with this knowledge that Yameen aims to help remove barriers that are obstructing each client from reaching for and blossoming into their ideal selves.
Education/Professional:
Yameen earned his Bachelors degree in Human Development with an emphasis on child and adolescent development from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and went on to earn a Master of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy from Capella University. He is a member of both the Indiana and American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
Hobbies:
Yameen’s hobbies include cycling, track & field, outdoor activities, traveling, watching movies and spending time with his wife and children.

Yameen specializes in mood disorders, youth & adolescent work, couples, pre-marital and family counseling related to transitions, adoption and trauma.
