Dermita Johnson MSW, LSW
If you’re a parent watching your child struggle, or a young adult trying to make sense of life’s challenges, you don’t have to go through it alone. Dermita is a compassionate social worker who specializes in helping children, teens, and young adults heal from difficult experiences, including trauma, stress, and emotional struggles.
With years of experience in child welfare and hospital social work, Dermita understands how overwhelming it can feel when life takes unexpected turns. She is deeply committed to walking alongside young people as they learn to cope, build resilience, and discover healthier ways to navigate their world.
In sessions with Dermita, you’ll find a safe, judgment-free space where it’s okay to be honest, vulnerable, and real. She uses proven therapeutic techniques tailored to each person’s unique needs, while also working closely with families when it’s helpful. Her goal is simple: to support growth, healing, and the confidence to face life’s ups and downs.
Whether your child is experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, or the effects of past trauma—or if you’re a young adult trying to regain your footing—Dermita is here to help. Her clients often describe her as approachable, supportive, and someone who truly listens.
A lifelong Indianapolis resident, Dermita’s passion for helping others started early through her work in child welfare, where she saw firsthand the power of having someone in your corner during difficult times. Outside of work, she enjoys music, trying new activities, and traveling—especially when the beach is involved.
Dermita is currently welcoming new clients for both in-person and virtual sessions. If you or your child are ready for support that feels safe, personal, and encouraging, call our office at 317-471-8996 to schedule with her today.
